Marketing CoordinatorMid-America Festivals, producers of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival and Trail of Terror, is interviewing applicants for an entry-level Marketing Coordinator.The Marketing Coordinator position includes marketing, media, sponsorship and special events duties. Projects may include, but are not limited to1. Advertising Arranging advertising with print and broadcast media, coordination of advertising production, calling to renew and generate new accounts.2. Sponsorship Maintaining relationships with current sponsors and securing new sponsors for the Festival and Trail of Terror. Cold-calling will be required. 3. Event Planning Planning the Festivals special event weekends such as Highland Games, Chocolate and Wine Festival, 5K Run, Longbow Competition, Pet Fest, Wine Auction and Radio promos.4. Media Relations Preparing marketing materials including press kit, newsletter, playbill, media kits, contacting media and press releases. Making calls to the local press to pitch stories and invite them to the festival. 5. Promotion Working with Festival promotions and event planning such as giveaways, promotional pieces, secondary events, radio interviews, and pre-season promotions. Publicity events are included parades, festivals, county fairs, press party, character appearances, etc.6. Miscellaneous Maintaining marketing databases, trade ticket distribution, and incentive program.Additional informationExperience Must have some kind of past experience, internship or job in the marketing or communications field. Event planning and Sales experience preferred but not required. Education Bachelors Degree required. Marketing, business, public relations andor communications, degrees preferred. Skills required Superior written and spoken communication abilities, multi-tasking, organization, must be out-going, and respond well to pressure and deadlines, good phone skills. Social Media knowledge preferred. Hours Full-timeYear Round - Office hours are M-F, 830 a.m. to five p.m. Nights and Weekends required, especially in the summer.
